Floods, hurricanes and other disasters can strike without warning and damage or destroy irreplaceable art, artifacts, books and historic records. “Before and After Disasters” is an initiative of the Heritage Emergency National Task Force and FEMA to help archives, arts centers, libraries, museums, historical societies and historic sites find Federal funding to better protect their collections. This guide provides information on programs and agencies that provide funding for the development of disaster plans and staff training on disaster preparedness. (Updated July 14, 2014)
